Linnea Kop successfully defended her PhD thesis entitled "From (Meta)Genomes to Ecosystems: Unraveling the Ecophysiology and Phylogenetic Diversity of Nitrite Oxidizers and Beyond" on June 27, 2025.

The board of examiners included Anja Spang (Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research), Murat Eren (Helmholtz Institute for Functional Marine Biodiversity), and Caroline Slomp (Radboud University). Congratulations, Linnea!
